High-speed link for Model 570
򐂰 The Model 570 1/2-way system supports a single HSL-2/RIO-G loop wit a
maximum of 6 towers across the loop.
򐂰 The 2/4-way system supports two HSL-2/RIO-G loops with a maximum of 12
towers across both loops.
򐂰 The 5/8-way supports four HSL-2/RIO-G loops with a maximum of 18 towers
across all loops.
򐂰 The 9/12-way supports four six HSL-2/RIO-G loops with a maximum of 24
towers across all loops.
򐂰 The 13/16-way supports eight HSL-2/RIO-G loops with a maximum of 30
towers across all loops.
The speed of the HSL-2/RIO-G is doubled to 2 GBps. compared to the previous
HSL-2 adapters operating at 1 GBps. The following rules apply to towers that are
supported at these speeds:
򐂰 New #5094, #5294, #0595, and #5095 come with a #9517 HSL-2/RIO-G
adapter. The #5790 PCI-X Expansion Drawer includes a #9531 HSL-2/RIO-G
adapter
򐂰 HSL-2 adapters in existing #5094, #5294, #0595, and #5095 towers must be
replaced with a #6417 2 GBps HSL-2/RIO-G adapter.
򐂰 Mixing of HSL and HSL-2 towers is permitted with the correct combination of
cables.
