Chapter 9. iSeries Model 595
The IBM Eserver i5 Model 595 is the newest
member of the POWER5 technology-based
servers. It is an 8 to 64-way processor with
performance of up to 165,000 commercial
processing workload (CPW). A highly scalable,
upgradeable industry-standard architecture helps
support balanced growth, with IBM Capacity on
Demand features that enable extra power at a
moment's notice to handle surges in demand of
CPU or memory.
Supported by advanced virtualization
technologies, Model 595 servers are designed to
run multiple operating systems simultaneously,
including IBM i5/OS, Linux, IBM AIX 5L, Microsoft Windows (via an Integrated
xSeries Adapter (IXA) or an Integrated xSeries Server (IXS).
