9-2 SCPI Signal-Oriented Measurement Commands Models 2510 and 2510-AT User’s Manual
Command summary
The signal-oriented measurement commands are used to acquire readings such as thermo-
electric cooler DC current, power, and resistance. You can use these high-level instructions
to trigger and acquire readings directly without having to send any other commands.
Signal-oriented commands are summarized in Table 9-1.
NOTE The :FORMat:ELEMents command determines the reading elements returned
by MEAS?, READ?, and FETCH?. (See “FORMat subsystem,” page 10-19.)
Acquiring readings
FETCh?
Description This query command requests the latest post-processed readings stored
in the sample buffer. After sending this command and addressing the
Model 2510 to talk, the readings are sent to the computer. This com-
mand does not affect the instrument setup.
This command does not trigger control-measure operations; it simply
requests the last available readings. Note that this command can repeat-
edly return the same readings. Until there are new readings, this com-
mand continues to return the old readings. The readings that are
acquired depend on which data elements are selected (see “FORMat
