Unlike other commands, like those listed in TSP commands (on page 7-8), each common command
must be sent in a separate message.
The common commands cannot be used in scripts.

*CLS Clear status Clears all event registers and Error Queue. For detailed

*ESE <mask> Event enable command Program the Standard Event Status Enable Register. For detailed

*ESE? Event enable query Read the Standard Event Status Enable Register. For detailed

*ESR? Event status register query Read/clear the Standard Event Enable Register. For detailed

*IDN? Identification query Returns the manufacturer, model number, serial number, and

*OPC Operation complete command Set the Operation Complete bit in the Standard Event Register
after all pending commands, including overlapped commands,

*OPC? Operation complete query Places an ASCII "1" into the output queue when all selected
device operations have completed. For detailed information, see

*RST Reset command Returns the Model 2657A to default conditions. For detailed
