Masking
[Out of Shutter] Button
Selects whether or not to mask the image.
• The setting changes as follows each time the but-
ton is touched.
[ON] The image is masked.
When set to ON, the "ADJUST" button
may be selected.
[OFF] The image is not masked.
[Adjustment] Adjusts the masking field.
The masking adjustment screen is
displayed.
[Mammo (Chest Wall)] button
Selects whether or not to mask the chest wall side on
mammogram images.
• The setting changes as follows each time the but-
ton is touched.
[ON] The chest wall side of the image is
masked.
When set to ON, the "ADJUST" button
may be selected.
[OFF] The chest wall side of the image is
not masked.
Masking
The purpose of this type of image processing is to black out areas outside the field of
X-ray exposure on the image read. This prevents undue light leakage when carrying out
diagnosis of the printed film on the light table.
Out of Shutter
Any areas not exposed to X-ray when the image is taken are blacked out.
Mammo (Chest Wall)
Any areas on the chest wall side of a mammogram image are blacked out.

The result of irradiation field masking may be checked using the image display area
on the examination check screen.
