2-8 ADVANCED OPERATION GUIDE
Original Quality Mode
The Original Quality Mode is used to optimize scanning quality according
to the type of originals.

Press [E-Mail]. The Scanner Basic screen displays.

Press [Original Quality].

Press S or T to select the
required mode and press [Enter].
A Completed message displays
and the Scanner Basic screen
returns.
Mode Description
Text+Photo Select this mode when the original contains a
mixture of both text and photographs.
Photo Select this mode when the original contains mainly
photographs.
NOTE: To e-mail photo images using 200dpi
resolution, it is recommended that Full Color or
Grayscale mode is selected.
Text Select this mode when the original contains mainly
text.
OCR This mode will be available when you have selected
Monochrome in the Scan Color mode.
Use this mode if the image data is to be converted
into text using OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
software.
