Completing Cleaning and Disinfection
Follow the instructions provided in this section to complete the cleaning and disinfection
process.
5.1.5.1 Reconnect and Reassemble
• If previously disassembled, reassemble the Roam NXT and PIM NXT by inserting
the PIM NXT into the Roam NXT collar until it is flush. Screw together reusing the
screw supplied with the device. Be careful to not overtighten the screw.
• Reattach PIM NXT and Roam NXT belt clips. Refer to the section
Removing and
Attaching the Clip on page 108.
• If previously disassembled, reassemble the UPP Puller NXT by connecting the
motor and the nose. Reattach the catheter guide and the clamp. Refer to the
section Assembling the UPP Puller NXT on page 24
.
• Be sure to return the drip tray to the pump and close the pump door.
To use the system after cleaning or disinfection, reconnect power to the system, dock
devices, and follow the instructions provided for normal use.
5.1.5.2 Packaging and Storage
Devices may be packaged flat in a clean, antistatic box or wrapped in a lint-free cloth after
cleaning or disinfection. Do not stack devices and ensure that devices are not pressed
against one another or against the container. If the box has multiple units, use a divider to
prevent contact with other devices.
Store all NXT modules in their respective docs or according to packaging instructions. for
storage conditions, refer to the Appendix on page 117.
For long-term storage, Laborie recommends that the Roam NXT and the Urocap NXT be fully
charged prior to storing. Remove the module from its docking station and press the “Reset”
button on the module to cause the device to go into long-term sleep mode. To wake up the
modules after storage, place them in their corresponding docking stations.
5.2 Preventive Maintenance
General Maintenance
This section provides instructions on maintenance activities that can be performed by the
user on various modules of the NXT System. For device-specific information, refer to the
subsections that follow.
• Caring for the Interlocked Roam NXT & PIM NXT
• Caring for the Urocap NXT
• Caring for the Cart and its Components
NOTE: With the exception of the Remote Control NXT, module batteries are not user
replaceable. Contact Laborie Service for battery replacement if required. For an equipment
overview and instructions on charging batteries, refer to the section Hardware on page 102
.
