11.3 Telescopic Siderails
The siderails are components of the bed in contact with patient.
The nursing personnel are responsible for the siderails being raised up while the patient is in the bed.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrectly latched siderail!
► Ensure that siderail is secured in the upper position or folded down to the lowest position. Audible „click“
indicates the siderail locked in the upper position. Push the siderail up and down to ensure the siderail is xed in the
required position!
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrect position of siderails!
► Ensure that siderails are folded up while the patient is in the bed. Prevent patient from falling o the bed when
a siderail is folded down! Hospital personnel is responsible for meeting this requirement.
► Hospital sta is responsible for assessing if the physical and psychological state of the patient is in accordan-
ce with use of the telescopic siderails in middle positions!
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrect manipulation with siderails!
► Ensure that there is no body part between siderail bars during folding siderail down.
