Installing Drive Shaft
1. Lubricate the seals and inside bore of the bearing carrier (a).
2. Place the drive shaft (“b” impeller end facing up) into a vise.
3. Heat the bearing carrier (a) until it feels warm to the touch.
4. Place the bearing carrier (a) onto the drive shaft. Square up the inner bore with the
ballbearing(s)andpushthebearingcarrierdownuntilitbottoms-outagainstthebear-
ing. It may benecessary to lightly tap bearing carrier onto the bearing(s)using a rub-
ber hammer.
NOTE:Onlyalightpressingforceisneededtopressonthebearingcarrier.Itmaybenec-
essary to lightly tap the bearing carrier onto the bearing(s) using a rubber hammer.
