Disassembly
WARNING
Whendisassembling rewind starter, SAFETY GLASSESMUST BE WORN in case
spring should uncoil out of housing.
1. Remove starter rope as outlined previously.
2. With rope removed, allow sheave to slowly unwind to release spring tension.
3. Remove bolt securing cam and sheave to housing.

4. Gently lift starter sheave from housing.
5. Rewind spring assembly may be replaced as required. DO NOT remove springfrom
retainer. Spring and retainer are replaced as an assembly.
