Pinion and Driveshaft
1. Place lower drive shaft tapered roller bearing into bearing cup.
2. Place pinion gear into gear housing with teeth of pinion meshed with teeth of forward
gear.
3. Insert driveshaft into gearhousing while holding pinion inplace withother hand.Rotate
driveshaft back and forth to align splines on driveshaft with splines in pinion gear.
4. Secure pinion gear to driveshaft.Apply Loctite “271” to pinion nut or bolt.Refer to table
for “Fastener Type” and “Torque”.
