5. Position armature into starter frame so that commutator end of armature is at end of
starter frame where permanent magnets are recessed 1-5/16 in. (33.3mm). Align
marks as shown.

6. Installsprings andbrushesinto brushholders.Spread brushes and holdinplacewith
a strip of spring steel.
7. Push in on drive end of shaft so that commutator will extend out of starter frame.
