3. Connect the other end of the sampling line to the patient.
For intubated patients requiring an airway adapter, install the airway adapter
between the patient circuit and the ventilator Y-piece.
For non-intubated patients, place the nasal cannula onto the patient.
4. Connect the gas outlet to the scavenging system using an exhaust tube.
After the CO

module is connected to the SMR, it enters measure mode by default and the
monitor displays CO2 Starting. CO
2
can be measured after the start-up is complete.
