[START/STOP] key
Starts/stops measurement. It is also used for detector escape.
• Measurement
Measurement starts if this key is pressed. If the key is pressed again during measure-
ment, measurement is stopped.
NOTE Check the drive unit used and the drive unit settings in the display unit before using
the unit. If there is an error in setting the drive unit, an error message such as
“DRIVE ERROR 1” and “OVERRANGE” may appear, disabling measurement. For
information about the drive unit setting, refer to “5.12 Setting the Drive Unit”.
TIP For information about the measurement, refer to section 4.3, “Measurement”.
• Detector escape and release
The Detector escapes into the Drive unit if the [POWER] key is pressed while the
[START/STOP] key is held down. The Detector is released if the [START/STOP] key is
pressed in the escape state.
TIP For information about detector escape and release, refer to section 11.2, “Detector
Retraction Procedure and Cancellation”.
NOTE If the Front Escape function type drive unit is used, the Retract function is not
available.
