3. SETTING UP THE SJ-301
■ Turning off the power
There are two ways to turn off the power supply.
• With the [POWER] key
• With the auto-sleep function
● Turning off the power with the [POWER] key
The SJ-301 has a function that automatically turns off the power. However, in general the
power should be turned off manually with the [POWER] key.
● Power off with auto-sleep in use of the built-in battery
With the built-in battery in use and auto-sleep set to ON, if the SJ-301 is not operated for
more than a constant time after power-on, the power is automatically turned off with the
auto-sleep function.The Auto-sleep function prevents battery consumption du e to forgotten
power -off.
NOTE If the AC adapter is used, auto-sleep will not function irrespective of the setup forthe
auto-sleep function.To turn off the SJ-301 power, press the [POWER] key.
The measurement conditions still remain in memory even if the power is turned off with
the Auto-sleep function.Also, measured results are stored in memory if the built-in battery
switch was turned on, and will be displayed next time the power is turned on.
TIP The display indicating that the battery is being charged is also displayed during auto
sleep. Refer to section 11.3, “Recharging the Battery” for more information.
