When the printer characters become faint, it may be because:
● The ribbon is jammed
● The ribbon has dried out
● The ribbon character life has been exceeded (an error message
will report when the ribbon character life has almost expired).
To replace the printer ribbon proceed as follows:
1 Open the exterior of the ATM.
2 If your ATM does not have the auto-supervisor function, press
the switch on the operator panel to the supervisor position.
3 Access the journal printer as described in Chapter 1, ‘Getting
Started’.
4 Pull down the protective cover on the rear of the printer.
