E.1.2 Installation
Install the NEC Storage Manager Agent Utility by following the procedure below:
1. Log in as a root user.
2. Check that none of the following software has been installed:
iSMrpl (ReplicationControl)
iSMrcd (ReplicationControl/DisasterRecovery)
iSMsc (SnapControl)
iSMvol (iSM volume list command)
iSMagent (NEC Storage Manager Agent Utility)
Run the following commands and check the results:
rpm -q iSMrpl
rpm -q iSMrcd
rpm -q iSMsc
rpm -q iSMvol
rpm -q iSMagent
If any of them has been installed, uninstall all of them.
3. Set the CD-ROM in the application server.
4. Mount the CD-ROM by performing one of the following:
Create a mount directory (Example: /cdrom)
Use the mount command for mounting.
mount -r /dev/cdrom /cdrom
5. Use the rpm command to start installation.
rpm -ivh /cdrom/VOLLIST/LINUX/iSMVOL/iSMvol.rpm
6. The installation is complete when the following message is shown:
7. Unmount the CD-ROM. Use the umount command for unmounting.
umount/cdrom
On the server where CD-ROMs are not available, transfer the file of iSMvol.rpm from
other server to install it.
Installation completed.
