3. Remove the one-way clutch and inspect both sides
of drive rollers (B). Inspect the roller contact surface
(C) inside the hub for wear, damage or uneven
surface.
4. Inspect drive surface of starter gear (D) and bushing
(E) for wear, damage or uneven surface. If any
starter one-way clutch component is worn or
damaged, replace the clutch and starter gear as an
assembly.
CRANKCASE DISASSEMBLY / INSPECTION
1. Remove the oil cooler (A) from the crankcase.
2. Remove the crankcase drain plug (B) to drain any oil
remaining in the engine.
3. Remove the oil filter.
4. Remove the water inlet cover (C) from the cylinder.
