Table 3.3: Correction factors for Bayard Alpert gauges not implemented in the device
In the Gas Type menu the user can select a relevant correction factor for each channel indepen-
dently.
In addition, the user may de๎งine any other gas correction factor in a range from 0.01 to 9.99, which
makes the controller more universal. Table 3.3 present some of factors not implemented in the
MG15.
For passive gauges correct readings of pressure are achieved by multiplying the readings by the
correction factor according to the following formula:
๐
๏๏๏๏
= ๐
๏๏๏๏๏๏
โ
๐
๏
where:
๐
๏๏๏๏
- pressure after correction
๐
๏๏๏๏๏๏
- pressure read regardless of gas correction
๐
๏
- gas correction factor
Note
Nominal correction factors cannot be treated as ideal (giving high precision of
measurements), because they differ even for identically manufactured gauges.
Greater discrepancies exist for different gauges types, ๎งilament materials or op-
eration voltages. The discrepancies generally do not exceed 10% for popular
gauge types and increase to the value slightly exceeding 20% for less popular
gas types.
