Modbus RTU Unsolicited Communication
Modbus RTU Unsolicited Communication Parameters
Parameter Description Value
Controller Settings
Name Enter a unique name for the controller.
Any valid character
(a…z, A…Z, and 1…9)
Controller Type The type of controller to connect to.
Any controller that supports the
Modbus protocol
Description An optional description for the controller.
Any valid character
(a…z, A…Z, and 1…9)
Zero Based
Addressing
By default, user-entered addresses have one subtracted
when frames are constructed to communicate with a
Modbus device. If the device does not follow this
convention, clear the checkbox to disable this parameter.

PanelView 800 Settings (when Ethernet Encapsulation is not enabled)
Port Select the port on the terminal to use. RS232, RS422/485 (Half Duplex)
Baud Rate Select the maximum communication rate.
300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800,
9600, 14400, 19200, 38400,
57600, 115200
Parity Specify the type of parity for the data. None, Odd, Even
Request Timeout
(ms)
Specify the amount of time the driver waits for a
complete request frame to be received.
The elapsed time is calculated from the instant the first
byte of a new request is received. If a complete request
frame is not received during this time, the driver flushes
it received data buffers and assumes the next received
byte is the start of a new request.
Modify this setting carefully.
0…30000
Stop Bits Specify the number of stop bits per data word. 1…2
Ethernet Encapsulation enabled
Ethernet Encapsulation not enabled
