Adapter for Cryo3 Object Holder
This Polar® instrument also accepts the Cyro3 Object Holder
via an adapter (optional).
Using Adapter for Cryo3 Object Holder
1. Loosen the screw with an Allen wrench and insert the Cryo3
Object Holder into the tissue sample mounting surface of the
adapter [1].
2. Securely tighten the screw [2].
The Cryo3 Object Holder can now be used with the Polar®
instrument.
The blade holder installation position is different from the
normal position.
Lock the blade holder at the Cryo3 installation position;
otherwise, sectioning cannot be performed correctly.
Refer to p. 2-32 for details.
If the adapter is inserted in the wrong direction, it cannot
be attached to the specimen head.
Cooling takes a longer time compared to when the
standard Object Holder is used.
Freeze the Block Using the PINO Hyfluid
Method
Frozen blocks can be prepared in approx. 45 seconds using
the PINO Hyfluid method.
Incompletely frozen blocks can also be cooled again.
1. To prepare a frozen block, put a tissue sample (specimen)
and OCT compound in the Cryomold and put it on the Object
Holder. Refer to p. 2-5 for the preparation method.
2. Sandwich 1 with the object tray [1] and object retainer [2 of
the Cryo Holder].
3. Put 1 in the PINO (frozen block preparation instrument)
containing cooled Hyfluid (cooling medium) [3].
The block will freeze in approx. 45 seconds.
4. When finished, take out the frozen block.
