How to Disassemble/Set and Clean the Blade Holder
By disassembling and cleaning the blade holder, debris attached to the blade holder can be removed
effectively.
Clean the blade holder with the disposable blade removed.
Refer to p. 3-9 for information on disassembling the Anti-Roll Plate.
Be careful not to lose the wave washer when cleaning the blade holder. If the wave washer is not
inserted, the blade holder cannot be locked and sectioning won't be performed.
If the blade holder is rinsed with water, dry the blade holder thoroughly before installing it. Note that
solutions corrosive to plastics and metals cannot be used.
Disassembling/Cleaning the Blade Holder
The blade holder can be disassembled into two parts--the moving
part carrying the stage and the base on which to lock the stage in
the chamber. Disassemble and clean the moving part as debris
collects in this part.
1. Remove the blade holder from the chamber.
Tilt toward you the blade holder mounting lever indicated in blue, to
unlock the blade holder. Pull out the lever, and the blade holder
can be removed. Refer to p. 2-32 for the removal method from the
chamber.
2. Disassemble the moving part that slides to the left and right
carrying the stage.
Tilt toward you the blade holder left/right lever indicated in yellow,
to unlock the blade holder. Pull out the lever and slide the moving
part to the left or right to remove (the moving part can be removed
from either the left or right).
3. Use a cloth moistened with neutral detergent to wipe clean the
disassembled parts and blade holder, rinse them well with water,
and dry them thoroughly.
As the lever is locked, abrasion powder may collect in the hole that
receives the lever. If the collected powder is not removed, the lever
may stop moving to the left/right or other malfunction may occur.
Accordingly, also clean the inside of the hole.
4. If the Anti-Roll Plate is installed, also disassemble and clean
the Anti-Roll Plate. Refer to p. 3-9 for the disassembly
method.
Put a brush into the vacuum suction port and vacuum hose
attachment port and scrape out debris, if any.
