How to Use/Lock the Foot Switch
The foot switch has a safety lock mechanism. The foot switch cannot be used while locked.
Unlocking the Foot Switch
Before the foot switch can be used, the handwheel and foot switch must
be unlocked.
1. To unlock the foot switch, press the pause key (
) on the right panel of
the instrument.
2. Once the foot switch is unlocked, "FOOT SW" appears in the status
display area on the screen.
3. Unlock the handwheel to start sectioning. Refer to p. 1-8 for information
on how to unlock the handwheel.
How to Operate the Foot Switch
The foot switch is available in one of two types: TYPE 1 and TYPE 2. If
you want to change the type, contact the nearest authorized Sakura
distributor or representative.
• TYPE 1
Step on the foot switch once to start motorized sectioning.
Step on the foot switch again to start motorized sectioning.
• TYPE 2
Hold the foot switch, and the instrument continues motorized sectioning.
Release the switch to stop motorized sectioning.
Adjusting the Sectioning Speed
Use the speed adjustment lever on the right panel to adjust the
motorized sectioning speed.
Raise the lever to increase the speed. Lower the lever to decrease the
speed.
The speed can be changed while motorized sectioning is in progress or
paused.
Chattering may occur due to high-speed sectioning.
Sectioning will not stop even when the lowest speed is selected.
Locking the Foot Switch
Pressing the pause key () during motorized sectioning or locking the handwheel while motorized
sectioning is paused locks the foot switch.
