Replacing the Vacuum Filter Set
When the vacuum filter is used for a long period of time or is used to
filter a large amount of sections, its suction capacity may drop or
infections may occur. Replace the vacuum filter every 3 months or
after suctioning every 2,000 sections. Note that suctioning may be
disabled after less than 2,000 sections depending on the section
thickness and other conditions of use, in which case the vacuum filter
should be replaced immediately.
1. Replace the vacuum filter inside the chamber.
2. Remove the vacuum filter set [1].
3. Put the vacuum filter set in a bio-hazard bag inside the chamber
and seal the bag [2].
4. Set a new vacuum filter set to the instrument. Refer to p. 3-3 for the
installation method.
Cleaning the Vacuum Hose
If debris attach inside the vacuum hose, its suction capacity will drop.
Clean the drain periodically.
Besides disinfectant alcohol, neutral detergent, 2% glutaraldehyde
and sodium hypochlorite solutions can be used.
1. Remove the joints [1], [2].
2. Clean the hose using a drain cleaning brush, etc.
3. Dry the hose thoroughly before installing it.
Thoroughly dry the alcohol, if used for cleaning. If any setting is
made when the chamber and/or waste tank is still wet with
alcohol, the instrument may detect an error or malfunction.
Wear a mask, gloves, goggles and other protective gears when
handling a disinfectant such as glutaraldehyde. Thoroughly rinse
the vacuum hose with water after disinfected and dry it. If a
disinfectant such as glutaraldehyde remains, it may cause health
hazard or instrument malfunction.
