Handwheel Lock tab
The handwheel has a safety lock mechanism. Manual sectioning or motorized sectioning is not possible
when the handwheel is locked.
The black lever at the rotating part of the handwheel is the handwheel lock tab.
Unlocking the Handwheel
To unlock the handwheel, tilt the black lever toward you.
Locking the Handwheel
To lock the handwheel, tilt the black lever away from you.
The handwheel is locked when the specimen head is at the
top position. The handwheel is not locked if the specimen
head is at any other position. Note that turning the
handwheel with the lock lever tilted in the locking direction
automatically locks the handwheel at the locking position.
When the handwheel is locked, the lock icon is displayed in
the status display area on the screen (DM only).
Be sure to lock the handwheel when working in the chamber,
changing the disposable blade, etc.
Unlock the handwheel to perform motorized sectioning.
