Basic Operation Flow
The basic flow of preparing frozen sections using this system is shown below.
For the details of related operation items, etc., refer to the applicable pages.
• Perform pre-operation checks.
• Turn on the power if not yet turned on.
• Log on to the system or return fro
m the sleep mode/standby mode.
Logging On to the System
Details: p. 2-2
• Check the temperature settings.
• Prepare and cool a frozen block.
• Set the frozen block on the specimen head.
Adjust the specimen head.
• Change the disposable blade.
Preparing for Sectioning
Details: p. 2-4
• Move the specimen head to the sectioning start position.
• Cut the specimen to flat surface (rough shaving).
• Check the sectioning
thickness setting.
• Manually section the specimen (final shaving).
• Section the specimen using the Anti
-Roll Rake (final shaving).
• Section the specimen using the Anti
-Roll Plate (final shaving).
• Put the section onto the glass slide.
Sectioning
Details: p. 2-11
• Take out the frozen block.
• Clean the interior of the chamber.
• Perform cleaning operation (defrost cycle/
ozone cycle).
• Shut down the system.
