Handwheel
Overview of Handwheel
This handwheel is used to section tissues.
Turn the handwheel clockwise from the front toward the back of
the instrument.
The specimen head will not back away, but still advance, even
even when the handwheel is turned in the reverse direction.
However, do not turn the handwheel in the reverse direction
because doing so may result in an unexpected accident.
Coordination of Handwheel and Specimen Head
The handwheel moves in coordination with the specimen head in the chamber. To be specific, the two move
as follows:
When the handwheel is turned by one revolution from the condition in [1] to the condition in [4], the
specimen head comes down [2] and the tissue is sectioned [3]. Turn the handwheel further, and the [3]
specimen head returns to the raised position [4]. At this time, the specimen head advances by the set
thickness.
Even when the system is used in the motorized sectioning mode, the handwheel turns automatically
according to the movement of the specimen head.
Return
to [1]
The specimen head
comes down.
The specimen head
reaches the bottom
and the tissue is
sectioned.
The specimen head
rises. After reaching
the top, the specimen
head advances by the
set thickness.
