Replacing the Draft Generator Filter
The filter capacity drops after a long period of use. As a rough guide,
replace the filter every 2 years.
If a clogged filter is detected, both the green and red LED lamps on the
draft generator turn to steady light. In this case, clean the pre-filter. If the
problem persists, replace the filter.
A blinking red lamp indicates fan abnormality. Turn off the power and
then turn it back on. If the lamp is still lit, replace the draft generator.
Refer to p. 3-5 for the error codes.
When replacing or cleaning the filter, wear a mask, gloves and other
protective gears and work inside a safety cabinet.
1. To ensure safety in replacement, run the ozone disinfection cycle.
2. After the ozone cycle is completed, open the window and operate
the draft generator.
Spray disinfectant alcohol onto inlet ports on both sides in the top part of
the chamber [1] and leave as it is for 5 minutes. Use of a spray is
recommended.
3. Unplug the draft generator connector and take out the draft generator
from the instrument. Put the draft generator in a bio-hazard bag, seal
the bag tight and bring it to a safety cabinet, etc.
4. Spray disinfectant alcohol on the draft generator placement area on
the back of the instrument.
5. Take out the draft generator from the bio-hazard bag inside the safety
cabinet.
6. Turn the two pre-filter lids clockwise to remove [2] and remove each
pre-filter. Spray disinfectant alcohol on the draft generator and
pre-filters and dust them off.
Immerse pre-filters in disinfectant alcohol for 10 minutes and then dry
thoroughly.
7. Put the pre-filters in their original positions. Put the pre-filter lids and
turn counterclockwise to lock them.
8. Turn the draft generator upside down and remove the four stoppers
on both sides [3]. Remove the outer frame [4].
9. Remove the HEPA filter [5]. Put the used filter into a bio-hazard bag
[6], seal the bag tight and dispose of it properly.
10. Spray disinfectant alcohol on the inside of the draft generator and
dry thoroughly. Set the new HEPA filter.
11. Install the outer frame and secure it with the stoppers.
12. Install the draft generator in the instrument. Refer to p. 3-5 for the
installation method.
Do not touch the HEPA filter surface. The filter capacity may drop.
The LED lamps also turn on when the fan stops or other abnormality
occurs during operation.
