Installation Method
This section provides information on determining a location for, and installing the Polar® instrument.
Installation should be performed by qualified service staff working exclusively with the Polar® instrument.
The Polar® instrument must be installed correctly to ensure proper operation and service.
Read this Operating Manual carefully before operating the Polar® instrument. Follow all instructions
provided in this document carefully.
The Polar® instrument is a precision instrument and must be handled accordingly. Rough handling or
dropping will disturb or damage internal components. Always handle the Polar® instrument with care.
Environmental Factors
As with all electronic equipment, the Polar® instrument must also be installed and used in an appropriate
environment (temperature, humidity, etc.).
Temperature and humidity should be held constant to obtain the highest degree of operating stability. The
ambient operating temperature range of the Polar® instrument is 10 to 35°C. The ambient operating
humidity range is 30 to 85% relative humidity, non-condensing. Locate the instrument in a well-ventilated
area at least 20 cm away from walls, avoiding exposure to corrosive vapors, direct air currents, or
temperature extremes. Avoid proximity to direct sunlight, open windows, sinks, ovens, open flames, hot
plates, radiators, and dry ice baths. Locate the Polar® instrument away from any equipment that consumes
a high voltage or large current, including large refrigerators and ovens. Since the instrument is very heavy,
the floor must be solid and level, and the instrument should be secured with adjusters (lockdown feet). Also
install anchorage brackets, etc., in case of earthquake.
Be sure the instrument is located near a power source that meets the electrical requirements (voltage and
amperage) specified in the specification page of this Operating Manual. The power receptacle must be
grounded and should be a clean, dedicated line.
Using the Polar® instrument in an unventilated location may do serious harm to the human body.
