Sectioning with the Anti-Roll Plate
Use of the Anti-Roll Plate eliminates the need to flatten the section with
a brush, etc., so even a beginner can make sections relatively easily.
1. When the rough shaving is complete, tilt the Anti-Roll Plate toward
the stage [1].
Turn the forward/backward screw to move the Anti-Roll Plate closer
until its tip roughly aligns with the blade edge.
While turning the handwheel, adjust the forward/backward adjustment
screw until the section comes straight onto the stage.
2. When the adjustment is complete, remove debris and unwanted
trimmings from the stage and blade edge using the brush and then
perform sectioning [2].
3. Once the section goes straight in between the Anti-Roll Plate and
the stage, return the Anti-Roll Plate to its original position.
4. Slowly move the glass slide closer to the section from above, and
the section will be attached to the glass slide due to temperature
difference [3].
Be careful not to cut your hand with the disposable blade.
Both top and bottom edges of the glass plate of the Anti-Roll Plate
can be used. It is recommended to turn the glass plate upside down
after one edge has been used for about three months.

If the Anti-Roll Plate falls sharply, its front edge may get contact
with a disposable blade and broken. This may lead to scatter of
glass fragment and cause injury. The broken Anti-Roll Plate may
also interfere with production of good sections or cause damage
to blocks.
