Therefore, please pay attention to the following guidelines:
Electronics modules must not be touched unless it is absolutely vital for the
work to be done.
Before touching a module, any static in the body must be discharged. The
easiest way to do this is by touching a conductive, earthed part of the
structure (e.g. bare metal parts on the cabinet, socket earth contact)
immediately beforehand.
Modules must not be brought into contact with materials that are good
insulators (e.g. plastic foil, insulated desk tops, clothing made from
synthetic fibres).
Modules must be placed on conductive surfaces only.
Modules must be plugged in or unplugged only when at zero potential.
The power supply must be switched on before any signal voltages are
applied.
Modules and components must always be stored and carried in conductive
packing (e.g. metalized plastic boxes).
If the packing is not conductive, the modules must be wrapped in
conductive material prior to packing. For example, conductive foam rubber
can be used.
