3.4 Working with menus
Almost every application based on MS-WINDOWS displays a menu bar below
the title bar. The menu bar can contain the names of either menus to open or
commands to execute.
Note
On the SINUMERIK 840C, the items in the menu bar are also displayed on
the softkeys. The menus can be opened in various ways:

• Press the ALT key. The selection bar highlights the first item in the menu
bar. You can now select the desired menu and open it with the INPUT key.
• Press the ALT key and then enter the HOTKEY for the menu. The
HOTKEY is the letter underlined in the menu.
• Simply press the softkey belonging to the item in the menu bar. The menu
opens.
