3.5 Working with dialog boxes
SINUMERIK 840C applications display a dialog box when additional
information is required from the user in order to perform a certain task (e.g.
parameters for initializing the serial interface).
Omission dots (...) following a menu item indicates that a dialog box is to
follow. The illustration below shows all the components that can appear in a
dialog box.

You generally have to move the cursor within a dialog box in order to select
the various options or to make entries. The currently selected input box is
highlighted optically or surrounded by a dotted frame.
You can change between the various input boxes in the following way using
the operator panel keyboard:
• Press the EDIT key to change between the individual input boxes,
or, if the element has been assigned a HOTKEY (underlined letter),
press the ALT key followed by the appropriate letter.
• Within a group of options you can jump from one option to another using
the ARROW keys.
