Rename waypoints
To cancel this waypoint property, select the No pilot action item.
RENAME WAYPOINTS
By default ECDIS numbers waypoints consecutively. (WP_001, WP_002, etc)
If a new waypoint is inserted between two existing waypoints or a waypoint is deleted it is
useful to re-number the waypoints from WP_001 again.
To re-number the waypoints shown in the route plan dialogue box click the column title
Name.
Alternatively it is possible to re-number the waypoints in the Route Properties dialogue box
by pushing the button “Rename the waypoints”.
IMPORTANT the function Rename the waypoints is applicable only to the waypoints
with a number given by default: WP_001, WP_002 etc. Any waypoint number changed (to
another name) by the user is ignored during the renaming process. Where the user wishes to
name the waypoints, this is best done once the route has been approved.
PARALLEL INDEX
To create a route parallel index, right click on the route and select the Parallel Index item from
the menu.
It's possible to draw line parallel to the selected route leg. Distance from the leg in NM and
time of creation are clearly displayed in the label of the line. This line is part of navigational
editor and therefore it's possible to edit it at any time: change position and length. Parallel
index is recorded in the logbook.
