RADAR OVERVIEW
I
NTERFACE
There are two ways for the ECDIS900 to interface with radar:
• Connection to the ARPA radar via serial line.
• Connection directly to the radar transceiver with the MARIS’ radar kit that delivers the
radar target table and the radar video.
All acquired targets are displayed on the electronic chart and the ECDIS900 manages the CPA
/ TCPA alarms.
TARGETS
The targets are displayed on the chart with

MARIS RADAR KIT
By using
, the PC can be transformed into an advanced radar system.
Combined this with ECDIS900, the radar picture can be shown on the chart and by means of
the built-in radar tracker you will now have the most common ARPA functions available.
The system to be installed on one or two machines which may operate on a local network
onboard the ship. MARIS radar tracking system has a unique capacity of tracking
simultaneously up to 300 targets, making it capable of searching for and showing data much
faster than any other system.
TARGET DISPLAY
Target symbols are small circles with a speed vector, the vector length being dependent on
the speed of the target.
In case of CPA/TCPA alarms the target’s icon flashes.
