QUALITY OF THE ENC DATA
• A11: Chart of 5m accuracy with sea floor coverage.
• A21: Chart of 20m accuracy with sea floor coverage.
• B01: Chart of 50m accuracy from standard survey.
• C01: Low accuracy or incomplete chart.
• D01: Unreliable chart.
• U01: Chart with quality not assessed.
SAFETY CONTOUR
Two values for the depth are displayed:
• The user selected value for safety contour.
• The safety contour available in the chart cell located under the ship’s position.
These two values are also displayed in a special panel coloured in yellow when the contour
specified by the navigator is different from the selected one.
WARNINGS
• When the chart is overscaled the warning “Overscale” is displayed.
• When the ship position is covered by an ENC at a larger scale than that provided for the
display the warning “Better chart exists” is displayed.
• When the displayed area includes waters for which no HO ENC are available, the area is
symbolised with green colour which means that the mariner has to refer to the paper
charts.
• When ARCS is used in an area where ENC data is available under the ship position the
warning “ENC data available “ is displayed.
In addition, the area covered by non ENC data is marked by appropriate line style and the
indication non-ENC data is displayed.
COLOUR TABLE AND BACKLIGHT CONTROL
In the Presentation Library VS52 3.3 three color schemes are available:
• Day bright
• Dusk
• Dark night.
Selecting the colour scheme is possible by pressing F8 or in the Chart setting dialogue.
