VOYAGE OPTIMIZATION DIALOGUE
Right click on the route and activate the menu “Voyage Optimization” to display the
optimization dialogue.
The optimization dialogue has several panels:
1. ETA calculator: main panel where the optimization is done
2. Commercial settings: set up of departure time and commercial issues linked
with the type of voyage
3. Optimization settings: parameters to control the optimization
4. Wave and Wind resistance: describe the ship model
5. Speed Power fuel: describe the ship model

LOTTING THE ROUTE
Plot the route on ENC charts as described in ECDIS900 manual. It is recommended not to use
too many waypoints for ocean crossing. The VDS calculates the optimized route passing the
waypoints defined by the master.
ORDERING CHARTS ALONG THE ROUTE
There are several ways of ordering charts but the most efficient way is to use MBA (MDS)
function and server. See MBA user manual.
