Chart collection status
The notes belonging to the current charts are listed in the ARCS notes menu. Selecting one of
the notes opens a window and shows the notes.
CHART COLLECTION STATUS
In Chart Handling dialogue click the button Print collection status to get the current chart
collection status
The two files are displayed in Notepad:
• The file ARCS_status.txt contains the state of the chart collection. The first part contains
licence details, hardware ID, User Permit and PIN code. The second part contains all
installed charts description: chart number, chart title, permit diagnostic, chart original
scale, source CD, update CD date, permit expiry date, permit and chart encryption
number. The third part contains the all installed permits descriptions: expiry date and
encryption number.
• The file ARCS_Hndl.log records all chart handling operations: operation type, date and
time of the operation, the CD identification for chart installation and updating, the chart
list with successful result, the chart list with failure result.
IMPORTANT
Both the above files are saved in the folder..\ECDIS_UserData\Chart_log. If a problem occurs
with chart handling, send these files to the MARIS Technical Support team.
ARCS SEAMLESS MODE
When ARCS seamless mode is active, ECDIS displays the current active chart together with
adjacent charts (where possible) as detailed below:
Only ONE chart is active at a time, the surrounding charts are shown in the same datum and
at the same scale as active one but are shadowed.
NOTE
Whilst the surrounding charts are displayed at the same scale, this may not be
their natural scale. The surrounding charts shown could be built from several
different scale charts zoomed to the scale of the chart in use. In some cases the
charts will not merge exactly. It sho
When ECDIS needs to fill in a part of the screen with another chart, the search starts with
charts of the same scale and then if no chart with the same scale is available the search is
extended to charts with higher and lower scale.
The system stops searching if there is no chart available at a scale between 1/4 and 4 times
the active chart scale.
