20.2 Ventilator Related Problems
Breath not detected
alarm.
Alarm Message:
Breath Not Detected.
ET tube blocked or disconnected. Check the patient for air entry.
Check the patient circuit.
High alarm threshold
does not move from top
of waveform window.
Alarm threshold set very high.
Check numerical value against
displayed scale.
Set alarm threshold closer to
waveform.
Preview mode cancels. The preview mode self cancels after
20 seconds if no button presses are
made.
Re-select preview mode.
Sustained sub ambient
pressure alarm present
after proximal airline
disconnection.
Autoset pressed while proximal airline
disconnected.
Reduce mean pressure to zero and
then increase to previous level.
Cycle fail alarm active
with flow sensor
connected.
Proximal airline disconnected. Check the patient circuit.

personnel to replace mains fuse.
Ventilator screen
remains blank on power
up. Power LED is On.
Display failure. Refer ventilator to qualified service
personnel.
Ventilator screen blank
with alarm tone being
generated. Ventilator
continuing to ventilate.
Display failure. Remove patient to alternative form of
ventilation, then remove ventilator
from service.
Refer ventilator to qualified service
personnel.
Ventilator screen blank.
Power LED is Off.
Continuous alarm tone
being generated.
Complete power failure. Remove patient to alternative form of
ventilation, then remove ventilator
from service.
Ventilator freezes,
displaying software
version start up screen
with a grey square
present in corner.
CAN Card fault. Refer ventilator to qualified service
personnel.
