28.4 Generic Nitric Oxide Delivery
Adaptor Kit
The kit is for single patient use. It is designed to be
used with an SLE approved patient circuit, in
combination with a Servo controlled humidifier and
an Inhaled Nitric Oxide Delivery System.
The kit should be fitted as per the diagram and in
conjunction with two N4110 scavenging filters. See
“Nitric Oxide Therapy” on page 76.
Fitting the adaptor kit
Remove the un-heated limb from the patient circuit
(the section of tube between the ET manifold and
the temperature probe port). Replace with the
adaptor kit. Connect the delivery and monitor lines
to the nitric oxide delivery system.
Inhaled Nitric Oxide Delivery
Note: Connect the NO/NO2 hose scavenging
filter directly to the exhalation block. Do not
use the N2186/01 silencer with NO Therapy.
Warning: It is very important that the Nitric
Oxide Monitor Line is close to the ET
connector and the Nitric Oxide Delivery Line
is 20-25mm from the humidifier temperature
probe port to allow adequate gas mixing.
Warning: Nitrous acid & Nitric acid can be
formed when Nitrogen Dioxide and water are
present. After use ensure that any
condensate on the ventilator gas ports is
removed by wiping with a dry lint free cloth.
