16.9.2 Limiting controls in HFO+CMV
The user needs to be aware that the following
controls interact.
The PIP and Delta P controls limit each other. This
is to stop their combined setting exceeding the
maximum pressure that can be generated by the
pneumatic system.
Step 5. Adjust the Delta P parameter as required.
Step 6. The High and Low Pressure Alarm
thresholds auto track the pressure waveform by 10
mbar. The alarm thresholds can be adjusted if
required. The thresholds are found in the pressure
waveform window.
16.9.3 Ventilation Without a Flow Sensor
Connected.
When the ventilator is used without the flow sensor
connected, the user will have to set the “Cycle Fail”
alarm.
Flow based functions, waveforms and loops will not
be displayed.
Note: In preview mode the full PEEP setting of
20 mbar can be set which means that the
maximum Delta P that can be set is 40 mbar.
(Twice the PEEP setting).
Note: In HFO+CMV mode the user needs to be
aware that with patients that can produce a
respiratory effort this will trigger the
“Pressure Changed Detected” alarm.
The ventilator is now ready to be
connected to the patient under user
supervision. Prior to and after
connection, it is the user’s
responsibility to adjust and monitor
the ventilation parameters to suit the
patient’s medical condition.
