25. RS232
This section describes the data format and
connections for the serial interface of the infant
ventilator.
25.1 Cautions for RS232
25.2 Location of RS232 Port
The RS232 port is located at the rear of the
ventilator as shown in the diagram below.
25.3 Overview
25.3.1 Data and Pinout Description.
Data Format: RS232-C compatible, 19200 bps, 8
data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. The data output is a
comma delimited ASCII text string terminated by
carriage return and linefeed (<CR>,<LF>). There is
1 second between the start of consecutive text
string transmission.
RS232 Pinout: The RS232 interface connector pin
assignments are as follows;
25.3.2 Cable
This pin assignment allows the ventilator to be
connected directly to the RS232-C serial port on a
PC with a standard serial cable.
Any computer/device connected to the
ventilator must be specified for medical use.
The interface cable should be removed and
the RS232 port capped when not in use.
Do not allow the ingress of any liquids into
the RS232 port.
