23. Oxygen Calibration Routines
The ventilator has two oxygen cell calibration
routines. The first calibration is the 100% oxygen
calibration (one point). This calibration is carried out
at the following intervals after the unit is turned on:
start up, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90
minutes and then at 8 hourly intervals.
The second routine is the 21% and 100% oxygen
calibration (two point). This calibration should only
be carried out if the oxygen cell has been replaced
or has registered below 21% (cell drifting with age).
23.1 One Point O
2
Calibration
The user can carry out
a one point calibration
of the system by
accessing the oxygen
sensor calibration
panel from the
services panel.
The ventilator can be
connected to a patient
for this calibration.
The ventilator will continue to deliver the user set
percentage of O
2
during calibration.
The O
2
measured value will read Calib.. in the O
2
parameter control until the routine is complete.
23.2 Two Point O
2
Calibration
The two point
calibration routine can
only be performed
from the Ventilation
Off mode. To carry out
a two point calibration
access the Monitor
Services panel.
Pressing the Two Point O
2
Calibration button the
user will have to wait 7 minutes before carrying out
any new operation.
The O
2
measured value will read Calib./ in the O
2
parameter control until the routine is complete.
Warning: The user must not carry out the two
point calibration whilst connected to a
patient. The ventilator is in Ventilation Off
mode and the calibration process will deliver
21% O
2
to the patient for 7 minutes.
