31.1.7 Function and Alarm Testing
Step 9. Set the following parameters in the CPAP
preview mode:
Ti 1 sec.
CPAP 5 mbar
PIP 20 mbar
O
2
% 21%
After pressing the confirm button the user
will be presented with the CPAP screen.
Set the high alarm to 30 mbar
Step 10. Check that:
Backup is set to OFF and apnoea is detected after
20 seconds (Default value after power up).
TTV
plus
is set to OFF. (This button will not appear
when functionally testing without a flow sensor
fitted).
Step 11. Verify that: the test lung inflates.
Step 12. Pull the test lung to mimic a breath, then
acknowledge and reset the alarm.
Verify that:
after 20 seconds the
visual and audible
Apnoea alarm is
triggered.
Step 13. Pull the test lung to mimic a breath, then
acknowledge and Reset the alarm.
Verify that: a manual breath is delivered when the
manual breath button is pressed.
Step 14. Press the
Apnoea Setup button
on the Mode Panel.
The Apnoea Alarm
Settings panel will
now be displayed.
Set Apnoea delay to
10 seconds.
Set the Backup
Breaths button to ON
Press the Return button to return to the mode
panel.
Pull the test lung to mimic a breath, then
acknowledge and reset the alarm.
Note: Press the manual breath button twice to
display the measured PIP value.
Note: If functionally testing the ventilator
without a flow sensor fitted, the TTV
plus
button
will not appear and the Flow/Time & Tidal
Volume/Time windows will be replaced by the
Breath Trigger Level bar Level bar.
