14 MEASUREMENT OF TONES Tonality
The instrument assesses the audibility of tones based on the next standards:
ISO 20065:2016,
ISO 226:2003,
ISO 226:1987.
See Appendix F.
Note: It is recommended to familiarize with the Appendix F before proceeding. This chapter
describes only the navigation of the instruments, whereas Appendix F describes the Objective
Method for Assessing the Audibility of Tones in Noise Engineering Method (according to
ISOS 20065:2016) applied in the instrument.
Note: The Tonality analysis is performed after collecting the necessary data measured with the
Sound Level function and, depending on the standard, the 1/3 Octave or FFT function.
14.1 SELECTING THE TONALITY FUNCTION
To activate the Tonality analysis function,
select the Tonality position in the
Measurement Function list and press
<ENTER>.

In this case the instrument displays for about 2 seconds the warning: “Measurement in Progress”. To
change the current measurement function, the measurement must be stopped!
