InstallingtheFrontWheelMotor
IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputthe
rightmotorontheleftsideofthemachine).Ifnecessary,usethe
PartsCatalogandPartNumberonthewheelmotortoidentifythe
rightandleftmotors,thereisalsoayellowdotontheleftmotor.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Installthettingsintothewheelmotor
ports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-Ring
FittingintotheComponentPort)(page4–9).Ensurethatthettingsare
orientatedcorrectly.
2.Cleanthethreadsinthesteeringforkandonthe4boltsthatsecurethe
wheelmotortothemachine.
3.Positionthefrontwheelmotortothesteeringforkwithportsfacingtoward
rearofthemachine.
4.ApplytheLoctite#271(orequivalent)tothethreadsofthebolts.Secure
thefrontwheelmotortothesteeringforkwiththe4bolts;torquethebolts
to128to157N∙m(94to116ft-lb).
IMPORTANT
Beforeinstallingthewheelhub,cleanthetapersofwheelhuband
wheelmotorshaft.Ensurethatthetapersarefreeofgrease,oil,
rust,anddirt.Donotuseanti-seizelubricantwheninstallingthe
wheelhub.
5.Insertthesquarekey(item7inFigure66)inthewheelmotorshaft,then
installthewheelhubontothewheelmotorshaft.
IMPORTANT
Donotusetheremovedlocknuttosecurethewheelhubtothe
wheelmotor.
6.Installnewlocknut(item8inFigure66)ontothewheelmotorshafttosecure
thewheelhubtothemotorshaft.
7.Removethecapsorplugsfromthehydraulictubesandwheelttings.
8.Connectthehydraulictubestothewheelmotorttings;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicHoseandTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page4–8).
9.Installthewheelspacer(item11inFigure64),wheelassemblytothe
machine;refertoInstallingtheWheel(page6–14).
10.Lowerthemachinetotheground.
