Condition Possible Cause
Starter solenoid clicks, but starter will not crank.
(If solenoid clicks, problem is not in interlock system.)
Battery cables are loose or corroded.
Ground connection(s) is loose or corroded.
Battery is discharged or faulty.
Cable connection at starter motor is faulty.
Starter mounting fasteners are loose or not supplying a
sufficient ground for starter operation.
Starter solenoid is faulty.
Starter motor is faulty.
Starter cranks but engine will not start. Fuel tank is empty.
Fuse B1 (10 Amp) is faulty.
Wiring to interlock components is loose, corroded or
damaged (see electrical schematic and wire harness
drawings in Chapter 9 Electrical Drawings).
Fuel pump or circuit wiring is faulty.
Engine or fuel system problem (see Chapter 3 Kohler
Gasoline Engine and/or Kohler Aegis Service Manual).
Battery does not charge. Battery is faulty.
Engine alternator or circuit wiring is faulty.
Radiator fan never comes on. Fan fuse (30 Amp) is faulty.
Fusible link is faulty.
Fan relay or circuit wiring is faulty.
Excessive temperature output from engine controller
has not energized fan relay (see Kohler Aegis Service
Manual).
