4. Turbocharger
Short, loud noise and at the same time the pressure changes on the air side.
Surges do not have a direct effect on the engine when this occurs at irregular
intervals, but the air flow rate is decreased.
Problem Possible Causes Procedure
Turbochargers surge There is too much load, or the air is not
sufficient.

The cylinder is defective (injection, exhaust

5. Oil Mist Detector
CAUTION
If an oil mist detector activates an alarm, keep away from engine.
Do not go into the areas adjacent to the explosion relief valves
(see 0460−1 Instructions about the Prevention of Crankcase
Explosions).
