7. Cylinder Liner and
Water Guide Jacket −
Installation
1) Install the insulation bandage, refer to
paragraph 6.
2) Attach the lifting tool (94201, Fig. 7) to
the cylinder liner, refer to paragraph 3.
3) Attach the chain 94202A to the shackle
on the lifting tool 94201.
4) Apply oil to all new O−rings.
5) Put all new O−rings in position.
6) Attach the engine room crane to the
chain (94202A).
7) Operate the engine room crane to lift
the cylinder liner into the bottom water
guide jacket.
8) Remove the flanges (2, Fig. 2).
9) Attach the manual ratchets
(94016−003) and shackles as shown in
Fig. 7.
10) Operate the manual ratchets
(94016−003) to lift the water guide
jacket.
11) Attach the water guide jacket to the
cylinder liner with the three M12x70
bolts (3).
12) Remove the manual ratchets
(94016−003) and shackles.
13) Attach the flanges (2, Fig. 2) to the
cylinder liner with the special screws,
refer to paragraph 3.
14) Attach the holder and pin (4) to the cylinder block with the two M16x70 bolts.
15) Clean the seating surface on the cylinder liner and cylinder block.
16) Apply a non−hardening sealing compound (eg Hylomar Universal Blue) to the
cylinder block.
17) Operate the engine room crane to lift and move the cylinder liner into position above
the cylinder block.
18) Operate the engine room crane to lower the cylinder liner into the cylinder block.
Make sure that the pin (4) engages the hole in the holder.
19) Remove the lifting tool (94201).
20) Install all lubricating quills (refer to 2138−1).
21) Operate the cylinder lubricating pump on the applicable cylinder liner until oil flows
from all the lubricating grooves (refer to 2138−1, paragraph 5).
22) Install the piston rod gland, refer to 2303−1, paragraph 2.6.
23) Install the piston and, refer to 3403−1 paragraph 3 3403−1.
24) Install the cylinder cover, refer to 2708−1 paragraph 4.
