2. Bearing Cover −
Removal
1) Remove the round nuts (1), refer to the
procedure in 9403−4 paragraph 2.
2) Operate the manual ratchets (H2, H3)
to carefully lower the bearing cover
(3).)
3) Do an inspection of the bearing
shell (4, Fig. 1).
4) If the bearing shell (4) is in good
condition, lower the bearing cover to
the bottom of the crankcase.
5) If it is necessary to remove the bearing
shell from the engine, continue from
step 6)
6) Remove the manual ratchet (H3) from
the bearing cover.
7) Install the support (94116D) as follows:
a) Attach the shackle (94019K,
Fig. 2) to the top of the column.
b) Attach the shackle (94019K) to
the top of the column.
c) Attach the sling (94039−002) to
the the support (94116D).
d) Attach the chain block (H4) to the
sling (94039−002) and the shackle
(94019K).
e) Attach the sling (94039−015) to
the gallery as shown.
f) Attach the eye bolt (94045−M10)
to the support (94116D).
g) Attach the chain block (H1) to the
sling (94038−15) and the support
(94116D).
h) Operate the chain block (H1, H4)
to lift the support (94116D) to the
position shown.
i) Attach the support (94116D) to the
column with the pin (2).
j) Remove the sling (94039−002)
k) Remove the chain block (H4) from
the sling (94039−002).
Note: Keep the tension on the sling
(94039−015) and the chain
block (H1).
8) Operate the manual ratchet (H2) to lift
the bearing cover (1) to the position
shown.
